Add or subtract from a date
When adding or subtracting months or years, if the target month has no such day, the result is the last day of that month (e.g. Jan 31 + 1 month = Feb 28, or Feb 29 in a leap year).
Business days skip Saturdays and Sundays only; public holidays are not excluded.

How to use
- Time between two dates: pick a start and end date to see the number of days instantly, also broken down into weeks, months, years-months-days and business days.
- Tick "Include end date" to count both the first and last day — useful for leave or event durations. If the end date is before the start date, the days are shown as a negative number.
- Add or subtract: choose a start date, add or subtract, an amount and a unit (days, weeks, months, years or business days) to get the target date and its weekday. Tap "Today" to fill in today's date.
FAQ
What does "Include end date" mean?
By default the tool counts the days elapsed between two dates, so Oct 1 to Oct 3 is 2 days. With "Include end date" both ends are counted, giving 3 days. Tick it for leave, events or contract terms; leave it off for things like the number of hotel nights.
Do business days exclude public holidays?
No. Business days only skip Saturdays and Sundays — public holidays, make-up working days and company closures are not taken into account, since they differ by country and year. Subtract any holidays in the period yourself if you need an exact count.
What is January 31 plus one month?
If the target month doesn't have that day, the result is the last day of that month: Jan 31 + 1 month is Feb 28, or Feb 29 in a leap year, and Mar 31 + 1 month is Apr 30. Years work the same way: Feb 29 + 1 year is Feb 28 of the next year. The months-and-days breakdown follows the same rule, so Jan 31 to Feb 28 counts as exactly 1 month.
Are results affected by time zones or daylight saving time?
No. The calculator works with calendar dates only (no times of day), so crossing a daylight saving change never adds or loses a day. Everything runs in your browser and no data is uploaded.
